Calamus
oil is distilled from dried rhizomes of Acorus Calamus.
The main consitituent of the oil is B-asarone which has
insect repellant properties.
The oil possesses a warm, woody spicy and pleasant odour
with increasingly sweet afternotes and great tenacity.
It is useful in perfumes of the woody oriental type, in
leather bases, ambresec. The oil has long lasting character.
