KOKILA OIL
|
Sugandh
Kokila Oil is distilled from dried mature fruits of Luvunga
Scandens, a strong woody climber with recurved spines
found in Assam and Khasi Hills.
The essential oil is a yellowish brown oil containing
Cinnamyl cinamate, Cineol, d-Camphor and methyl cinamate
as the main components with alfa fenchone, Alpha fenchyl
alchohol, citral, geraniol, Linalyl acetate etc, as the
minor components. It also contains sesquiterpene compounds,
designated luvugene, luvugol and luvungone, having high
boiling points making the oil interesting for perfumery.
The odour is fresh, camphorous, cineol like with a solid
background of sweet balsamic, woody and earthly notes.
The oil can be used in small quantities for modifying
effects in woody, oriental carnation type perfumes. The
oil can also be used in tobacco flavours. |
