Jatamasi
oil is distilled from the roots of Nardostachys Jatamasi.
It is a olive brown colourd liquid of a warm, balsamic
odour wit a distinct animal undertone of muck like character
and great tenacity.
It gives interesting effects in combination with patchouli,
costus, oakmoss, oil cyperious, in modern chypre variations
and it also blends well with all pine materials, lavenders,
lonones and quinolene derivatives. The oil is occasionally
used for tobacco flavouring and also in beer and liquor
flavours.
